CAL Fall 2024 Judged Show

CAL's Fall 2024 Judged Show is a virtual competition held on the CaFE website. Registration opens August 12, 2024 and closes September 22, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Judging takes place September 23-29, 2024.

The show is open to artists living in the Houston area and Lone Star Art Guild leagues who are willing to participate in art league activities. Membership is not required to enter, but membership in Conroe Art League or another LSAG Art League is required to submit winning artwork to the LSAG Annual Show in Summer 2025. Entry fees are $15 per artwork for adult artists over 18, with a limit of 3 entries per category and a maximum of 20 pieces per artist. School students up to age 18 may enter up to 2 pieces free using coupon codes STU1ST and STU2ND at checkout. Artwork must be submitted as JPEG or JPG files, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, and under 5 MB in file size.

The judge is Lee Steffy, Director of Moody Gallery in Houston with over 27 years of experience. Awards are announced at the General Meeting on October 5, 2024, and include cash awards for Best of Show, Best Floral, Best Landscape, and Best Student, distributed based on the number of paid entries. Winners in the categories of 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, 1st Honorable Mention, Best of Show, Best Landscape, Best Floral, and Best Student qualify to compete in the Summer 2025 LSAG Annual Show. Active Adult Regular Members of CAL may hang their winning artwork in the CAL gallery in November 2024 with no hanging fee, requiring one docent shift per artwork. Take-in is November 5, 2024. Awards must be picked up at the Conroe Art League gallery. Refunds are not given.
