CAFE SKETCHES: Artists Travel Drawings and Paintings

Perry and Carlson Gallery is featuring a group show of sketches, drawings, ink-washes, paintings and collages from artists' travels, real or imagined. Work may be detailed and representative, gestural and fleeting, or even coffee stained and dog-eared. The gallery seeks original work in the spirit of travel sketches, whether literally from a sketchbook or not.

Work must be original, not reproduction. Non-framed work must be adhered to card stock or equivalent to hang in the gallery. There is no minimum size; maximum size is restricted to 18" in either direction. Only propose artworks that are for sale. Recommended prices are no greater than $500 per work, with the gallery taking a 50% commission. Please specify: title, medium, size in inches, and retail price.

Entry fee is $35.00. Submit 2-8 images of your work. Exhibition dates are August 3 through September 2, 2017, with an opening reception on August 3rd during Mount Vernon's Art Walk. Artist notification date is July 19, 2017. Accepted works must arrive by August 1, 2017. Unsold work must be picked up by local artists by 6 pm September 8, 2017, or will be returned via prepaid shipping during the first week of September. Return postage is the artist's responsibility. The Perry and Carlson Gallery is located in downtown Mount Vernon, Washington, 1 hour north of Seattle.
