By the People, For the People: 3rd Annual Juried Members Exhibition

In 2026, as The United States of America marks its 250th anniversary, Hill-Stead Museum is highlighting one aspect of the Declaration of Independence: The People. This year's Annual Juried Members Show entitled "By the People, For the People" calls for artwork that celebrates that concept. You are encouraged to submit work that reflects whatever sparks your creativity: people, community, nature, or anything you gravitate toward.

Eligibility: National and international artists 18 years or older with current Hill-Stead Museum membership. Original works accepted in all media. Up to three works per artist may be submitted, with a maximum of one work per artist selected for exhibition. Entry fee is $20.00, with an additional $10.00 media fee per piece. HSM Individual Membership is $60.00. Submit 1-5 images through CaFÉ before the deadline of April 27, 2026.

Two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for installation with hanging hardware already installed; work cannot exceed 60 inches in any dimension or 50 pounds. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 48 inches in any dimension and should be accompanied by a pedestal or be ready for display as freestanding; work cannot exceed 100 lbs. Installations are not accepted. The Museum prohibits glitter, wet paint, sharp objects, open flames, balloons, sprays, dangerous chemicals, weapons, pressurized containers, plants or animals, hazardous materials, decaying materials, or anything deemed harmful to the Museum's collection. Selected works must be delivered ready to hang/display by June 11, 2026. Shipped artwork must include return postage. Hill-Stead Museum will not be responsible for any damage before, during, or after the exhibition. Sales of artwork are encouraged; Hill-Stead will not deduct a commission and will provide artist contact information to interested buyers. Exhibition dates: June 18 - August 30, 2026.
