About This Call
The Town of Burlington Sculpture Committee and the New England Sculptors Association invite all 3D artists to submit to the fourth round of outdoor sculpture installations at Burlington Sculpture Park. Works that are interactive, possibly musical or featuring motion, are priority considerations for this round. All works that the public can safely enjoy, including a variety of styles and media from artists of all backgrounds, are welcome. This is a two-year exhibition in the Town Center. Entries will be juried by the Sculpture Committee, with NESA acting as an advisor.
Call for Entry runs February 2 - March 2, 2026. Notice of Acceptance will be April 15, 2026. Delivery of work begins June 1, 2026 (individually arranged), with installation and opening in June 2026 (official opening date to be determined). Deinstallation is June 2028. Entry fees are $20 for NESA members and $40 for non-members (up to 3 submissions). Each sculptor will receive a $2,250 stipend for the two-year loan, with 50% paid on installation and 50% paid upon removal. Accepted artists should include delivery costs in their stipend budget. Works sold during the exhibition are subject to a 25% commission to NESA for members and 40% for non-members.
Sculptures should be suitable for long-term outdoor exposure and fabricated in a viewer-safe manner. Works should not exceed 12 feet in height. The Town of Burlington will assist with installation, including concrete pads if needed. Sculptures that need maintenance during the exhibition or differ significantly from submitted images may be excluded. Politicized works will not be welcome. Town insurance covers damage to works up to $50,000 and liability to the public. Only original artworks may be submitted, with no substitution of accepted works allowed. All artwork must remain in place for the entire exhibition. By entering, artists agree that accepted artwork may be reproduced and used by the Town of Burlington, Burlington Sculpture Park, and NESA for advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes without consent or notification. Images must be jpg format under 4 mb (1920 pixels on longest side @ 72 dpi recommended). Videos demonstrating motion or sound should be emailed separately.
