Built to Last: A Juried Art Exhibit of Baltimore's Enduring Landmarks

This juried exhibition invites artists to creatively reimagine and reinterpret ten of Baltimore's architectural icons through painting, photography, illustration, and mixed media. The exhibition will explore themes of legacy, transformation, and preservation. Selected artworks will be exhibited at The Peale from April 17 to June 15, 2026. Artists will be featured in a digital catalog, and works will be available for purchase during a final fundraising auction.

Artists must select at least one of the following landmarks as inspiration: Peale Museum, Monument Square & the Battle Monument, Pennsylvania Railroad Company District Office, Alex. Brown & Sons Company Building, Mercantile Trust & Deposit Company, Vickers Building, Gayety Theatre, Baltimore Trust Company Building, B&O Railroad Company Headquarters Building, or Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Up to 3 artworks may be submitted per artist. Each submission must include the title, medium, dimensions, and year; one high-quality JPEG (1200 px minimum, 5MB max); a short artist statement (100–200 words); and a brief bio or resume (PDF). Work must be 2D and created within the last 3 years.

Open to all artists aged 18+ residing in Baltimore and surrounding counties. Work must be original, created within the past 3 years, and not previously exhibited at The Peale. Eligible 2D media include painting, photography, illustration, collage, printmaking, and mixed media. Entry fee is $25 (non-refundable) plus a $10 media fee. Deadline: November 3, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
