About This Call
BSA Space extends an open invitation to artists to exhibit photography that represents new, creative perspectives on the built or designed environment. Submissions will be juried on creative value, mastery of craft, and relevance to the exhibition theme. Each artwork will be considered individually.
Eligibility is open to all photographers, regardless of affiliation with the BSA/AIA or BSA Foundation. Artists may submit up to five pieces. All artwork must be submitted in a black frame, matted, framed, with d-rings on the reverse. There are no limits on size. High-resolution images must be submitted as .jpg files, at least 1200 pixels wide. For each piece, provide title, material (medium), price, dimensions, location, and year completed. Artists may submit an artist statement of 750 characters or less and a brief description of each piece up to 300 characters. The submission fee is $25 (waived for BSA members). All artwork selected for the exhibition will be for sale at BSA Space Photo Galleries at 290 Congress Street, Boston and featured on the BSA Space website. BSA Foundation receives a 30 percent commission on all artwork sold, with artists receiving 70 percent of the retail price within 30 days of the close of the exhibition.
All works will be insured while on site at BSA Space for the full sale value. Artists are responsible for all arrangements, costs, and execution of delivery and pickup of artwork. All artwork on exhibition must remain at BSA Space throughout the entire exhibition. The exhibition runs from June 4, 2019 to January 3, 2020. Accepted artists must submit completed contracts by May 1, 2019, with artwork postmarked by May 1, 2019 and dropped off by May 20, 2019.
