Brushstrokes and Beyond

The 2026 Spring Art Show, Brushstrokes and Beyond, is presented by the Lacombe Art Guild (LAG) to foster creativity in the visual arts on the Northshore by providing members and local artists an opportunity to showcase their artwork to the community. The exhibition will be held at Lakeview Hospital, First Floor Atrium, 95 Judge Tanner Blvd., Covington, LA 70433, from April 24 – May 8, 2026. The deadline for entry is April 3, 2026.

Open to all artists 18 years and older. Artists may submit any number of entries across six categories: Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes; People, Animals, Birds; Still Life, Plants, Flowers; Abstracts; Photography; and Pottery, Sculpture, and Other (3-D). All entries must be original, completed within the last four years, and not previously shown in any Lacombe Art Guild show. Entries must not include depictions of nudity, violence, or political or religious perspectives. All artwork must be for sale and ready to hang with wire and D-rings or eyelet screws. Plexiglass is required in place of traditional glass. Two-dimensional artwork exceeding 36" wide requires a suitable easel. Gallery wrapped canvases with side depth of 1 3/8" or greater are acceptable if suitably finished on all sides. Three-dimensional work on a pedestal is limited to 50 pounds and requires the artist to provide the pedestal.

Entry fees are $15 for LAG members (first work) and $10 each additional; $30 for non-members (first work) and $25 each additional. Awards are based on the number of entries per category, ranging from First Place ($100 + Ribbon) to Honorable Mention (Ribbon only). Judge of Awards is Scott Withington. All artwork must be delivered in person during specified drop-off times. Sales are processed by Lacombe Art Guild, with artists receiving 80% of the sale price after a 20% donation to LAG.
