Brownsville Museum of Fine Art 47th International Art Show

The Brownsville Museum of Fine Art invites artists 18 and older to submit original works for the 47th Annual International Art Exhibition. The exhibition features $3,300 in total prizes, including Best of Show ($1,000), category awards, and special awards. Eight categories are accepted: Painting (oil and acrylic), Drawing, Water Media, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Three-dimensional Sculpture, Photography, and Digital Media.

Entry deadline is February 20, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. The entry fee is $45 for up to three digital images. Only JPEGs up to 5MB with a minimum of 1920 pixels on the longest side will be accepted. Submissions are made via www.callforentry.org. All artwork must be original and from the submitting artist; no reproductions or published photographs are accepted. All wall art must be framed with d-rings or wire and ready for hanging. Canvas must be framed or gallery wrapped. Three-dimensional works must be stable and ready for presentation.

Accepted works must be shipped in reusable containers with prepaid return-shipping labels via UPS, FedEx, or USPS, or hand-delivered between March 11-15 during museum hours. Artists are responsible for shipping costs. The exhibition runs March 27 - April 27, 2019. The opening reception and awards ceremony is March 27 with dinner included (pre-paid ticket required). All artwork must be available for the entire exhibition duration. The BMFA requires 30% commission on any sales resulting directly from the exhibition. Artists grant permission for the BMFA to reproduce accepted artwork for promotional purposes in printed and electronic forms.
