Bronson Healthcare Cancer Pavilion

Qualifications are requested from local artists interested in proposing artwork for the interior of the Bronson Healthcare Cancer Pavilion. There is opportunity for a variety of wall-mounted media, ceiling suspended installation, and outdoor sculpture at various budget levels. Successful applications will include a portfolio of past work, details of similar projects, pricing information, and an outline of the process for design, fabrication and installation (if applicable).

Accepted artwork types include: wall-mounted sculpture (ceramic, wood, metal, glass) not projecting more than 4" off wall; fine art photography printable at 23" x 23" or larger (horizontal pieces minimum 35" x 23"); oil or acrylic on canvas minimum 30" x 30"; fine art on paper (watercolor, acrylic, pastel, ink, pen) minimum 23" x 23" unframed; ceiling suspended sculptural artwork for 2-story space (requires previous portfolio of ceiling suspended work); and outdoor sculpture (freestanding within 9' diameter or wall-mounted 6' h x 16' w). Subject matter should include representational nature imagery, nature-based abstraction, non-figurative work, and convey positivity. Natural colors like greens, blues, yellows, and oranges are preferred; very dark colors and concentrated amounts of red should be avoided.

Artists must reside within a 60-mile range of Kalamazoo, MI. Artists must be able to ship or deliver artwork to Art Expressions in Gurnee, IL, unless it is a sculptural piece, in which case delivery logistics will be discussed. Art Expressions may mat and frame artwork and will handle installation. All art will be reviewed for project suitability, and Art Expressions reserves the right to accept or reject any submission. If an artist does not currently have a piece fitting the specified sizes, they may provide examples of their work and indicate availability for commission requests. Project installation is projected for December 2020, except for outdoor sculptures, which will be installed Spring 2021. Work sample requirements: minimum 3 images, maximum 18 images; 0-2 videos; total samples 3-20.
