Brilliance of Now, Annual Juried Exhibition

Brilliance of Now is an annual juried exhibition at Kahilu Theatre Galleries inviting visual media artists of Hawai'i to explore life and existence in the present moment. The exhibition runs November 9, 2021 – January 10, 2022.

Eligibility: Artists currently residing in the state of Hawai'i. Accepting 2D and 3D artwork completed since January 1, 2017. Work executed under classroom/educational guidance or external supervision is not eligible. Artwork must be ready for installation and professionally presented (2D must be framed or mounted with hanging hardware; 3D work must have clear installation instructions). Entry fee: $30.00 per entry; up to five works per artist. Submit 1-5 images through Café at www.CallForEntry.org.

Awards: First Place $300, Second Place $200, Third Place $100. Juror: Mina Elison, Communications Director & Curator at the Donkey Mill Art Center. Important dates: Entry deadline October 12, 2021; notification of accepted works October 20, 2021; arrival of work at Kahilu Theatre October 29, 2021; opening reception November 9, 5-7:00 pm. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label, UPS or FedEx account number, or credit card information for return shipping. The Hawai'i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts has approved and scheduled an Acquisition Award Selection Committee visit to the exhibit.
