About This Call
Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to the online exhibition BRILLIANCE. The theme explores how art plays with perceptions of light, which can challenge viewers with what they see and understand from each piece. Light can go beyond being functional—it can be deeply affecting and uniquely used as both a tool and a subject to create certain effects and elicit emotion. Light levels directly influence mood and atmosphere within artwork. As light works with shadow, it lends a sense of depth and completeness. Artists are invited to show BRILLIANCE from their perspective.
Submissions must be in JPEG/JPG format with image size of 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side and maximum file size of 5 MB. Video submissions are accepted in MOV, MP4, or WMV formats with aspect ratio 4:3 or 16:9, resolution minimum 640x480 and maximum 1920x1080. Artists may submit up to 20 total entries. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. For 3D work, there is no need to pay for additional entries for detail shots; additional views may be sent by email to [email protected].
All accepted pieces will be displayed in the online gallery at www.art-fluent.com. Awards include Best of Show ($750) and two Director's Choice awards ($250 each). The exhibition is curated and juried by Creative Director Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee of jurors. Notification of acceptance and online gallery opening will be by Friday, April 7, 2023. This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that has been previously selected for exhibits with Art Fluent will not be considered. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. All fine art mediums are accepted, including oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art, and film/video. For any artwork that is sold, artists receive 100% of the sale. A portion of the proceeds from entry fees is donated to organizations committed to the arts and supporting artists.
