Bright Palettes

HMVC Gallery presents "Bright Palettes," a November group show celebrating color in visual art. The exhibition seeks artists who work with color as a primary focus. Subject matter is open, and artists are free to explore any theme or concept that speaks to them. All mediums of visual art are welcome except AI-created art and video/film. Artists can submit up to 20 artworks for juror consideration; one artwork from each selected artist will be included in the final group show.

Digital entries must be received by October 29th, 2024 before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by October 31st. The show will premiere on November 1st and run until November 30th. Submission requirements include high-quality images of artwork, an Artist Bio, and an Artist Statement. Images must be in JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format, with dimensions between 1200-2560 pixels on the longest side and file size under 2 MB. All entries will be judged by jurors Heini Mika and Vincent Chang.

All participating artists will be featured on the HMVC Gallery website and virtual gallery, receive a certificate of participation, and have their work featured in a video screening on a Times Square jumbotron billboard in New York City (when possible). Cash prizes include $150 for Best of Show, $100 for Second Place, and an online Solo Show for Third Place. The Third Place winner will also receive a solo certificate. Winners of cash prizes must have a working PayPal account; prizes will be sent within 14 days of response. Entry fee is $35 for the first entry and $10 for additional entries; fees are non-refundable and do not guarantee acceptance.
