Bridges Not Walls

Woodward Contemporary invites seasoned California artists to participate in Bridges Not Walls, an inaugural juried exhibition and opening celebration. The exhibition theme suggests that communication and collaboration are better than isolation and division. Artists are invited to express their vision for 2025 of what Bridges Not Walls means to them—whether as a bridge to knowing people of goodwill, a bridge to the next chapter in your life, or an appreciation of cultural, religious and philosophical differences.

The opening reception for artists is April 26 from 6 to 9 PM, with the exhibition running through May 22. Entry fee is $40.00 plus a $10.00 media fee. Artists must submit 2-4 images of original work. Eligibility is open to artists 18 years and older. Entries must be original and created entirely by the artist; digital art, workshop/class art, and reproductions are not accepted. Only one painting per artist will be juried into the exhibition.

Work specifications: Minimum image size 140 square inches (no side less than 10 inches). Maximum frame size 48 inches in either outside direction with maximum weight of 40 pounds. Sculpture maximum height 30 inches or less with maximum weight 100 pounds. Application deadline is April 9, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
