Bridges Juried Exhibition

6 Bridges Gallery invites artists to submit work reflecting the theme of bridges for a juried exhibition. The gallery takes its name from the six bridges that cross the Assabet River in Maynard. The concept of bridges connotes links, connections, and bonds—both physical and emotional—between people and things.

Entries will be juried by Shana Dumont Garr, a Boston-based arts writer, curator, and educator who is Director of Kingston Gallery and teaches Art History at Montserrat College of Art. All mediums are accepted except video. Work must be recent (within 5 years), wired and ready to hang with no sawtooth hangers, and have a maximum size of 40" in any direction. Artists must provide any special equipment needed to display work. All work must be for sale; 6 Bridges Gallery retains a 40% commission on sold work. There will be a Juror's Choice Award and a 6 Bridges Gallery Award.

Submission deadline is May 13, 2016. Entry fee is $15 for the first image and $10 for each additional image, up to three images total. Accepted work must be delivered to 6 Bridges Gallery, 77 Main Street, Maynard, MA, on June 19, 2016 between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Work will be picked up on July 24, 2016 between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. The gallery is unable to accept shipped work or store any work. Notification of acceptance is June 8, 2016. The reception is July 9, 2016 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
