Brevard Art Museum

The Brevard Art Museum is accepting entries for its 2008 Juried Exhibition. The entry deadline is May 30, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $50 for up to three artworks. Artists may submit 1 to 3 digital images of original artworks completed in the last two years. Works previously exhibited at BAM are not eligible. Digital reproductions, giclee, Iris, or inkjet copies will not be accepted. Artwork may not exceed 5 feet in any direction or weigh more than 100 pounds and must be ready for installation with accompanying hardware. No works containing live plants, perishable items, or requiring maintenance will be accepted.

Email notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent June 20. The deadline for delivery or drop-off of accepted works is July 11. The Patron Preview and Wine Tasting is July 17, followed by an Artist and Media Reception and public reception on July 18. Artwork pick-up is September 15. Accepted works must remain on exhibit through September 14.

Awards up to $10,000 include Excellence Awards of $1,500 each, Purchase Awards through the Donald F. Wright Memorial Fund, and Merit Awards of $500. The juror is Dr. Jennifer Hardin, Chief Curator of the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Florida. Participants will be featured on BAM's website. Accepted works may be hand-delivered or shipped prepaid with prepaid return shipping. Artists must provide adequate insurance coverage during shipment. BAM will insure artwork only while exhibited or stored on BAM premises. By entering, artists grant BAM permission to photograph their artwork for publicity and educational purposes. Artists should include a sales price for each entry; 30% of each sale will go to BAM. If a work is not for sale, mark NFS but indicate a value for insurance purposes. Employees of BAM, exhibition sponsors, immediate family members, and other household members are not eligible to enter. Current Trustees and members of the 2008 Juried Exhibition committee may enter but are not eligible to win awards.
