About This Call
Poster art submissions must be a completely original concept and represent the unique style and imagery of Bryan-College Station, Texas reflecting the excitement, spirit, and theme of Worldfest. Artists must submit two images as examples of their portfolio. Additionally, if available, artists may submit a draft image of the poster for consideration.
To honor the international Sister Cities of Bryan-College Station, Texas, artists from only the following regions are eligible: City of Salamanca, Mexico/State of Guanajuato, Mexico; City of Greifswald, Germany/State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany; or City of Bastogne, Belgium/Province of Luxembourg, Belgium. Accepted art categories include: Acrylic, Collage, Digital art, Digital photography, Mixed media, Oil, Pastel, Pencil, Watercolor, Tempera, Illustration, Print, and Other.
The winning artist will receive $500 US dollars for the commissioned poster, funded by the Bryan-College Station Sister Cities Association. The selected artist must attend the 2016 Brazos Valley Worldfest in College Station, Texas from November 2-6, 2016. Travel for the artist will be paid for and arranged by the Bryan-College Station Sister Cities Association. The application deadline is 11:59 PM Mountain Standard Time on September 5, 2016. Jury dates are September 6-9, 2016. The selected artist will be notified after September 9 and must submit the completed poster artwork by 11:59 PM Central Standard Time on September 30, 2016. Entry fee: $10.00.
