Brand 51: Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper

The Associates of Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California announces its 51st Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. This year's juror is internationally known photographer, curator, author, and speaker Ara Oshagan, co-curator of ReflectSpace Gallery at Glendale Central Library. Cash awards total over $4,000 including a Juror's Award. All accepted artworks will be included in a show at Brand Gallery and in both printed and online exhibition catalogs. The Associates of Brand Library & Art Center is an all-volunteer non-profit that raises funds to support extensive free, public events at Brand including gallery exhibitions, classical and popular music performances, film screenings, dance performances, and activities for people of all ages.

Artwork on or of paper is eligible, including collages, drawings, paintings, photography, prints, and 3-dimensional works. Paper must be a visible component of the artwork. Artwork must arrive ready for installation. Submit 1-3 images with a first-person artist's statement. Entry fee is $25 plus $10 for each additional entry (total: $25 for one work, $35 for two, $45 for three). Participation is open to artists residing in the United States. Entries must be original artwork created no earlier than 2019 and not previously exhibited at Brand Library & Art Center. Accepted artworks may not be removed or substituted before the close of the exhibition; artwork must be available between July 8 and September 1, 2023.

Submissions are made via CaFE (callforentry.org). Call for Entries opens March 1, 2023, with a deadline of April 7, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be sent April 25-30. Shipped artwork must arrive between June 5-16, with hand-delivered artwork due June 24 (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). The exhibition opens July 8 with an opening reception and announcement of awards, and closes September 1. Unless specified not for sale (NFS), all artwork will be offered for sale.
