Brand 49: Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper

Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California announces its 49th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. The exhibition welcomes artwork on or of paper, including collages, drawings, paintings, photography, prints, and three-dimensional works where paper is a visible component. Artists may submit 1-3 images. The entry fee is $10 for one entry, $20 for two entries, and $30 for three entries. Fee waivers are available for artists unable to afford the application fee by entering the code "brand49" during checkout.

Cash awards total over $4,000 including a Juror's Award. This year's juror is Marvella Muro, Director of Artistic Programs and Education at Self Help Graphics and Art in Los Angeles. All accepted artworks will be included in a show at the Brand Gallery or as part of a virtual show (depending on pandemic restrictions) and in both printed and online exhibition catalogs. Participation is open to artists residing in the United States. Entries must be original artwork created no earlier than 2018 and not previously exhibited at Brand Library & Art Center. The application deadline is May 23, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Accepted artists will be notified June 22-25. Shipped artwork must arrive between July 30 and August 15, 2021. Hand-delivered artwork is due August 22, 2021 (9:00 a.m. to noon). The exhibition opens September 11, 2021 with an opening reception and award announcement, and closes October 30, 2021. Artwork must be available for the entire exhibition period. Unless marked "NFS," all artworks will be offered for sale with the Brand Associates taking a 25% commission. Prices provided on the entry form are final and may not be changed. Shipped artworks will be returned within three weeks after the close of the exhibition; a prepaid return shipping label (UPS or FedEx) must be included.
