About This Call
The Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California is announcing its 46th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper, running September 8 through October 26, 2018. Cash awards total over $4,000 including a Juror's Award. All accepted artworks will be included in a printed exhibition catalog. The juror is Edward Goldman, a Los Angeles-based art critic known for his weekly show "Art Talk" on KCRW and as a contributor to the Huffington Post.
Artwork must be on or of paper, including collages, drawings, paintings, photography, prints, and 3-dimensional works, with paper as a visible component. Artists may submit 1-3 images. Entry fee is $30 for one entry, $45 for two entries, and $60 for three entries. Applications must include a first-person artist's statement (maximum 250 words). Participation is open to artists residing in the United States. Entries must be original artwork executed within the preceding two years and not previously exhibited at the Brand Library & Art Center.
Accepted artworks must be hand-delivered or shipped according to the provided schedule. Hand-delivered artworks can be glazed with glass; shipped artworks must use acrylic. Shipped artworks will be returned within three weeks after the close of the exhibition. A prepaid UPS shipping label and $30 handling fee are required for return shipment. Unless specified "NFS," all artworks will be offered for sale. The Brand Associates take a 25% commission on sales. Artists whose artworks are accepted will receive a complimentary copy of the exhibition catalog.
