Botanical Inspiration

Wickford Art Association presents Botanical Inspiration, a national exhibition juried by Lorraine Bromley, an accomplished watercolorist specializing in painting, design, and photography. Bromley's work draws from experiences in the natural world, with botanicals as a constant subject matter during her 16 years of consecutive 3-month Artist-in-Residence stays in Costa Rica.

The exhibition is open to WAA members and non-members across the continental United States, with no medium restrictions. All work must be inspired by the botanical world: plants or plant parts valued for their medicinal or therapeutic properties, flavor, and/or scent, including herbs. Artists may submit up to 5 works. The in-gallery exhibit runs April 8, 2022 through May 8, 2022, with a virtual gallery launching following opening weekend. Selected works will have the opportunity to be sold through WAA's online shop for a three-month period following the exhibit.

Entry fee is $35.00, with an additional $15.00 per extra entry. Submit 1-5 images in .jpg/.jpeg format (maximum 2MB per image). Photograph artwork directly without angles, with clean margins and no additional background; 3D work should be photographed against a white or black backdrop. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. WAA members receive 30% off entry fees with a coupon code provided by email.
