Botanica

The Village Theatre and Art Gallery is hosting its 14th annual juried exhibit themed Botanica. The Town is seeking artists to submit original artwork that depicts all things floral and plant-based, including flowers, roots, leaves, trees, and succulents. Artists are encouraged to explore how they incorporate the natural world around them into their artwork.

Submissions are open March 4 and close May 3, 2024, with a $30 entry fee. Artists may submit up to three pieces of work. Accepted mediums include faux flower/plant arrangements, multimedia, sculpture, acrylic, ceramic, charcoal, color pencil, collage, digital art, oil painting, pastel, photography, and watercolor. Original artwork only. The exhibit will be on view from July 13 to September 20, 2024, with an opening reception on July 13. Accepted artists will be notified by May 17, and artwork must arrive by the week of July 1.

Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in the Bay Area (San Francisco, Marin, Santa Clara, San Benito, Solano, Sonoma, Napa, Santa Cruz, Contra Costa, Alameda, and San Mateo counties). Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Fees must be paid at the time of submission. The gallery is 1000 square feet.
