About This Call
Boston Women's Photo League is seeking photojournalism and documentary work that exemplifies the unique connection between photographer and subject matter. Entries may be a series of photographs from one project or individual stand-alone photographs. The exhibition seeks work that reflects the relationship between photographer and subject, whether brief or momentary, and how life experiences help us understand and connect to the human experience.
Applicants must be active members of BWPL. The non-refundable entry fee is $20 and covers submission of 3-6 images plus resume. Optional: statement of work. Applicants must adhere to all published schedules, specifications, and guidelines. The rights to all work must be owned outright by the photographer, or proper permissions must be secured. Twelve to fourteen applicants will be selected for the exhibition.
Selected photographers must deliver unframed prints (24" x 30" on semi-gloss or luster paper) to the gallery October 6th between 10am-2pm or October 7th between 12pm-3pm. Exhibition dates are October 13 - November 19. Exhibitor notification occurs September 5-8. Work pick-up is November 29-30. Selected photographers have the option to sell their work; the PRC collects a 30% commission on sales. A loan agreement will be sent to each selected photographer.
