About This Call
The Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial is a juried exhibition open to all artists in North America. Original works in all printmaking media including monoprints and monotypes, books, and mixed media are eligible. Three-dimensional prints are accepted. Photographs, offset reproductions, and reproductions of artwork originally produced in another medium are not eligible. Submitted work may not have been exhibited in any other Boston Printmakers exhibition.
Artists may submit up to four digital images of original prints completed in the past two years. Entry fee is $30 for US members of The Boston Printmakers (with coupon code) or $40 for non-members. The fee is non-refundable. Over $10,000 is available in juror-designated purchase and materials prizes. The Boston Printmakers' Purchase awards go into permanent print collections at Harvard University's Fogg Museum of Art, The Duxbury Art Complex Museum, and The Boston Public Library. A 33% commission will be charged on all sales and Patrons' selections; no commissions will be taken on purchase prizes.
The exhibition will take place at Boston University's 808 Gallery from February 15 to March 30, 2009. Accepted work must be shipped prepaid with plexi, hinged window mat (2-4 inches wide, white or off-white), and backing board, all cut to the same size and slipped into a clear plastic bag. Prints will be returned to the return address on the box. Accepted artists are responsible for return shipping. A catalogue will be sent to all accepted artists. For further information, contact [email protected] or visit www.bostonprintmakers.org.
