About This Call
The Boston Printmakers 2011 North American Print Biennial invites all artists in North America to submit original works completed in the past two years in all printmaking media including monoprints, monotypes, books, and mixed media. Digital and three-dimensional prints are eligible. Photographs, offset reproductions, and reproductions of artwork originally produced in another medium will not be considered. Submitted work may not have been exhibited in any other Boston Printmakers exhibition.
The exhibition will take place at The Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, MA, with an opening reception on Sunday, February 27, 2011, and closing on Sunday, May 1, 2011. The juror is Jim Dine, a well-known contemporary painter and printmaker. Over $10,000 is available in juror-designated purchase and materials prizes. Purchase awards go into permanent collections at The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA, and The Boston Public Library Print Collection. A 35% commission will be charged on all sales and Patrons' selections; no commissions will be taken on purchase prizes.
Entry fee is $40 for non-members or $30 for Boston Printmakers members with coupon code. Artists may submit up to three digital images of original prints. Entries are submitted online through the CaFE system at http://www.callforentry.org. Accepted artists will be notified by October 20, 2010, and must submit accepted work by January 7, 2011 if shipped or January 8, 2011 if hand delivered. A catalogue will be sent to all accepted artists. For further information, contact Marc Cote at [email protected] or [email protected].
