Borders, Edges & Seams

Studio Channel Islands invites submissions for Borders, Edges & Seams, an exhibition running August 3 – September 2, 2017. The call welcomes all art forms including performance, video, sound, sculpture, and visual artistic expression across all styles and media. Artists are invited to submit work that explores interesting ideas found in life's seams, edges, and borders.

Accepted categories include 2D, 3D, video, film, performance, and installation. The exhibition does accept video, film, performance art, installation, and works requiring external electrical sources; however, artists must provide all their own equipment including motors, computers, iPads, extension cords, projectors, and headphones. All submissions must be original, previously unexhibited work by the artist and available for sale. The juror is Carol Sauvion, an American crafts scholar and producer of the PBS series Craft in America.

Entry fee is $45 for non-members and $35 for members. Submit 1-4 total work samples (images, audio, and/or video). Awards include three Juror's Awards with cash prizes: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $200, and 3rd Place $100. Artist notification date is July 18, 2017. Artwork drop-off is Tuesday, August 1, 2017, 9am-5pm. Reception is August 5, 2017, 4pm-6pm. Pick-up day is September 5, 2017, 9am-5pm. Artists shipping artwork must provide a return label.
