About This Call
The Downtown Gallery, located in downtown Kokomo, invites submissions for a juried exhibition of book and paper arts. This exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18 who reside in the United States. Any form of book and paper arts is invited. All work must be original and completed in the last two years. Work will be selected from high-resolution (300dpi) jpeg images not exceeding 5MB. For 3D works, a second detail photo may be uploaded.
Eligibility requirements: Submit 1-3 images of your work. Entry fee is $25, invoiced upon receipt of entry. Professional presentation is required. 2D artwork must be framed with a secure hanging method; canvas sides and staples must be covered. Sculptures should be fully assembled, structurally sound, and include detailed installation instructions if necessary. The juror is Anita Garza, a multidisciplinary artist and writer working with handmade paper, photography, collage, found objects, assemblage, and handmade books.
Important dates: Entries due 09/24/2019. Artists will be notified on or before 10/5/2019. Artwork delivery: 10/16/2019-10/19/2019 during gallery hours. Exhibition dates: 11/1/2019-11/28/2019. Opening reception: 11/01/2019 5:30pm-9:00pm. Artwork pick-up: 11/29, 11/30, 12/4, 12/5/2019 during gallery hours. Delivery and pick-up are the artist's responsibility. Artists may drop off/pick up during gallery hours or ship work in a sturdy, reusable box with prepaid return shipping label. Sales are encouraged; the gallery receives 30% commission on sold artwork. Any work not picked up 30 days after the show ends becomes property of the gallery. Gallery hours: Wednesday 11:30am-5:30pm, Thursday 12:30pm-6:30pm, Friday 11:30am-5:30pm, Saturday 12:30pm-6:30pm.
