About This Call
BOLD and FREE is an online exhibition open to international artists working in painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, fiber art, ceramics, and fine art crafts. The theme celebrates artwork that is fearless and daring, unbound and independent. No film or video submissions are accepted.
The exhibition will be presented online in the MSA Virtual Gallery, which will include artist pricing and contact information. A video version showing all works will also be produced and remain available after the show closes. The exhibition runs April 24 through June 21, 2025. A virtual Zoom reception will be held on Sunday, April 27 at 5pm PST. Juror Susan Goetz Zwirn, an accomplished artist and educator with degrees from RISD and Columbia University, will select works for the show. No more than 2 works by any single artist will be included in the final selection. Artwork previously juried into an MSA exhibition will not be accepted.
Entry fees are $35 for non-members (3 pieces) or $30 for MSA members (3 pieces), with an additional $7 per piece up to 10 total pieces. Digital entries must be submitted via CaFE by April 8, 2025 at 11:59pm Mountain Time. Accepted artists will be notified by email by April 16, 2025. Awards include First Prize ($500), Second Prize ($300), Third Prize ($100), and several non-monetary Honorable Mention awards at the juror's discretion. Artists handle all sales of their work directly with buyers; MSA takes no commission. All artists over 18 are eligible to enter.
