Bodies of... Juried Exhibition of Ceramic Arts

The Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan is seeking original ceramic works for Bodies of..., a juried exhibition of contemporary ceramics. The exhibition aims to show exceptional examples of ceramic craft and conceptual exploration of the medium. This year's juror is Sigrid Zahner, associate professor in the Department of Art and Design at Purdue University.

The call is open to all residents of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, as well as Crooked Tree Arts Center members regardless of residency. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Three prizes will be awarded: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $200, with additional awards possible. The entry fee is $35.00 per artist ($20.00 for CTAC members with coupon code CLAY19). Artists may submit up to four ceramic works. Submissions must rely on ceramic processes; mixed media work including ceramics are eligible. Work must be original and not previously exhibited at Crooked Tree Arts Center - Traverse City.

Submit entries online between January 30 – March 23, 2019. Notification will be sent by March 30, 2019. Work must be delivered to Crooked Tree Arts Center between April 8-15, 2019 during posted gallery hours (closed Sundays). The exhibition opens Saturday, April 27, 2019, 2-4 p.m. and closes Saturday, July 20, 2019. Work must be picked up between Monday, July 22 – Saturday, July 27, 2019, after 10 a.m. Work delivered with return shipping arrangements will be sent by Saturday, August 3, 2019. Image submissions must be JPEG format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB. The Crooked Tree Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sales.
