About This Call
Call for Entry - 2017 Open Juried International Exhibition
Boats, surf, and beaches – whether combined or separate, active or passive, foreground or background – are often the intrinsic ingredients of coastal recreation for many who live in or visit Southern New England. While Summer is certainly a highpoint in the recreation calendar, many enjoy the opportunities of Fall, Spring, and even Winter. Artists are invited to portray or interpret in whatever way they choose some aspect of these recreational opportunities or activities.
The exhibition will be held at ALRI/The VETS Gallery, One Avenue of the Arts, Providence, RI 02903, from Friday, April 7th through Saturday, May 27th, 2017. The reception and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, April 20th, 2017 from 5:30 - 8:00pm. Juror: Anthony D. Tomaselli, Painter and Teacher, Fluer De Lys Art Studio, Providence, RI. A small number of cash awards totaling $1,000 will be given along with some non-cash awards. Notification of acceptance will be sent on or before Friday, March 10th, 2017 via email.
Eligibility: Any artist who is at least 18 years or older may participate. All 2D and 3D media is eligible. Artists may submit up to 20 images. Entry fee is $40 for the first image and $15 for each additional image (discounted rates available for ALRI members). Maximum artwork size is 48" wide and 72" high including frame. 3D work must have an overall footprint of 24" x 24" or less with a weight limit of 35 lbs. All work must be original, exhibition ready to install with appropriate hardware, and appropriate for viewers of all ages. Artwork previously exhibited with ALRI is not permitted. Sales are encouraged; work may be listed as for sale or not for sale (NFS), but not as Price on Request (POR). ALRI takes a 30% commission from members and 40% from non-members on all artwork sold. Artists will be paid within 30 calendar days after the exhibition closes. Contact: [email protected] or (401) 861-0500.
