About This Call

By Hand is an international biennial fine craft competition and exhibition sponsored by Creative Arts League of Sacramento. The competition is open to all artists residing worldwide and accepts handcrafted items including furniture, vases, jewelry boxes, wall hangings, pottery, and sculpture made from glass, clay, wood, metal, and fiber.

Eligibility requirements: Work must be original and cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Gallery. Pieces must be able to enter through doors with an entry of 94" H x 91" W. All work must be for sale and cannot be withdrawn or sold outside the exhibition prior to the close of the show.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with $5 for each additional entry. Submissions require 3-10 images. The entry deadline is December 1, 2017. Selected artists will be notified on December 19, 2017. Work can be shipped by January 13, 2018 or hand-delivered on January 14-15, 2018. The exhibition runs January 19 – March 3, 2018, with an opening reception on January 20, 2018. Unsold work can be picked up March 4-5, 2018.
