Blue Genie Art Bazaar Fall 2026/Spring 2027

The Blue Genie Art Bazaar (BGAB) produces unique art shows featuring creative handmade gifts and art by local and regional artists. Rather than traditional booths manned by exhibitors, the show functions as a pop-up gallery or retail store. Exhibitors are responsible for setting up their area, creating stock, and merchandising their work. The annual holiday Bazaar is open every day from November 14 to Christmas Eve and has become an Austin tradition over the past 25 years. The May Market, which began in 2021, is a free, family-friendly experience showcasing regional artists and artisans, open weekends only throughout May. BGAB also maintains an online shop open year-round. Acceptance into one show does not guarantee participation in both events or the online shop.

Applications are accepted May 1 through July 31, 2025 with a $45 application fee (early bird discount of $10 available May 1-June 30). Artist notifications are sent September 1. Applicants must submit six product photos (JPG format, 72 dpi, 1400-1920 px on longest side, no larger than 5MB each), a brief artist's statement of 1,000 characters or less describing materials and techniques, a one-sentence description of work for marketing materials, pricing information, and booth type preferences. All submissions are reviewed through a jury process. Past participation does not guarantee future acceptance. Application fees are non-refundable.

Display spaces include 8' x 8' walls, 4' x 8' walls, shared shelving spaces (four levels, approximately 2 feet long each), jewelry cases, and clothing racks. Walls are 4' wide x 8' tall white plywood. Shelves and brackets may be screwed to walls; nails are not permitted. Walls may be covered with removable materials but not painted. Participating artists or representatives must be available for scheduled load-in and load-out, or pay a $100 fee for item storage. In addition to the application fee, exhibitors pay commission on sales: Tier 1 ($0-3,500) = 45%, Tier 2 ($3,501-$9,000) = 40%, Tier 3 ($9,001+) = 35%. Up to three artists may share one display space with a single application and primary contact.
