Blossoms 2024 Plein Air Exhibition

This exhibition features the theme "Pink and White Blossoms" and runs from May 18-June 2, 2024 at Howard County Welcome Center, 8267 Main Street in Ellicott City, Maryland. A panel of jurors will select work from both professional and amateur artists. The exhibition is open to all visual artists creating original artworks in 2-dimensional media, including painting, drawing, and photography. All Maryland artisans, whether students, amateur or professional, are welcome to enter.

Artwork must be ready to hang and properly framed/wired, limited to 24" x 24" (though a few larger pieces may be accepted). Submissions should include 1-3 images. The entry fee is $20.00, though those who have registered for the Plein Air to Prepare event receive free entry upon providing a coupon code. Artwork drop-off is May 14-15, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pickup is June 4-5, 2024. The opening reception is Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. Awards include grand prize $250, 1st Place $150, and 2nd Place $100. Artists may elect to have work for sale with a 20% commission charged. The exhibition space is not secured; artists may wish to carry their own insurance. Artists must sign an "Agreement to Exhibit" liability waiver. Accepted artwork may be refused at the Visitor's Center's discretion if unable to install properly or if it varies greatly from the submission image. Artwork cannot contain toxic, flammable, or dangerous materials, and no copyright violations are permitted.
