Works must feature dominant black or black in a prominent way. Eligible mediums include acrylic, oils, watercolor, drawing, photography, assemblage, collage, encaustic, mixed media, fiber art, and 3D art that fits on an 18" x 18" pedestal. Artwork must be between 10" and 72" in size, original, and ready for sale. All entries must be wired and ready-to-hang with two D-rings on the back.
Entry fee is $35 for the first work and $5 for each additional work (up to 6 pieces total). Submit one image per entry online through CaFÉ before 11:59 p.m. MDT on September 16, 2024. Artists will be notified of the juror's decision by end of day on September 30, 2024. The juror is Daniel Foster, with 30 years of experience in arts and museum leadership in Southern California.
Selected works will be published in the Ashton Gallery full-color exhibition catalog. Three awards and two honorable mentions will be given: Best in Show (featured on catalog cover), First Place (double page spread), Juror's Choice (double page spread), and Honorable Mention (double page spread). The exhibition runs November 9 - December 6, 2024, with an opening reception on Saturday, November 9 from 4pm-7pm. If artwork sells, Ashton Gallery receives 50% commission.
