Black, White & All the Grays Between

Black, White & All the Grays Between is a juried photography exhibition at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, 118 N. Main St., Providence, RI. The exhibition runs from November 17th through December 9th, with a reception and awards ceremony on November 17th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

This call is open to all styles and photographic processes exploring monochromatic images—whether actual black and white or monochromatic in nature. The exhibition seeks to explore how the reduction of color can enhance an image, create harmony, or tell a story more powerfully. The juror will evaluate work based on composition, technical skill, and personal vision. The exhibition will be juried by Eric Kunsman, a photographer and book artist based in Rochester, New York, and Lecturer at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Artists of all levels who are at least 18 years old are invited to enter. Submit 3-15 photographs; the entry fee is $35 for the first three images and $10 for each additional image. Current RICPA members receive a 20% discount. Work must be original, exhibition-ready, and no larger than 48" including the frame. Accepted work must be delivered by November 12th. Awards include First Place ($250), Second Place ($150), Third Place ($100), and a Juror's Prize (custom 36 x 48 print from Booksmart Studio). The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts retains a 40% commission on works sold (20% for Supporting & Exhibiting members).
