About This Call
Black & White: 2017 is a juried photography and digital art exhibition accepting black and white work only—photography, graphic/digital art, and other media comprised solely of black, white, and greys, with no color.
Submit 5-10 images. Entry fee is $30 for up to 5 works; additional works are $6 each. Accepted artwork dimensions are 12"x12", 12"x15", 12"x16", or 12"x18". The show will feature 20-24 accepted works and run during November with an opening reception on Friday, November 3rd. A juror will select from a prescreened pool of applicants to curate the final entries. Notification of acceptance occurs 10-14 days after the deadline; accepted artists have 7 days to provide print-ready files.
Specto provides free printing, matting, and framing using archival materials and an Epson SureColor P6000 printer. Awards include $500 for best in show and two $100 honorable mentions. After the exhibition, all works are catalogued and archived for continued promotion. Artists retain copyright and can authorize use of their work in promotional materials. If work sells, Specto takes a 35% commission with 65% going to the artist. All printing and shipping costs beyond the exhibition print are covered by Specto.
