Black and White: International Juried Art Exhibition

Black and White is an international juried art exhibition at Site:Brooklyn, a street level gallery located in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The exhibition seeks to show art that has cast away the color system and focuses on the visual power of black and white, reflecting the innovative and contemporary in painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and photography. The exhibition runs February 16 – March 11, 2018, with an opening reception on Friday, February 16 from 6-9 PM. Rosario Güiraldes, assistant curator at The Drawing Center New York City, will jury the show.

This open call is for all artists 18 years of age or older working in two-dimensional mixed media, drawing, painting, printmaking and photography. Submissions must include 3-12 images. The entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image. All entries must be received by January 8, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by January 15, 2018. Only original works may be submitted, and entries that differ significantly from their digital images may be rejected.

Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standards with a maximum size of 48" W x 60" H x 4" D. All artwork must be priced for sale, wired and ready for hanging, and include a label on the back with artist name, title, medium, dimensions, and price. Shipped artwork must arrive between January 26 and February 12, 2018. Hand delivery is available February 11-12 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping of their work and should provide their own insurance. Hand-delivered work must be removed by March 13, 2018.
