The Museum of Northern California Art (monca) is seeking original artworks created by artists residing in Northern California, defined as San Jose and all points north, east, and west to the state border, for an annual bird-themed exhibition taking place during Chico's 2025 Snow Goose Festival. All media are welcome except AI-generated work. Entries will be juried by the museum's exhibition committee. The exhibit will be held at the Museum of Northern California Art, 900 Esplanade in Chico, California.

Entry fee is $15 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 8 entries. All fees are non-refundable. Accepted work must be delivered ready to hang or display, with wall-hung pieces fitted with framing wire. All work must be dry and clean. 3D work must fit on a pedestal (which monca can provide) or the artist may provide other means of display. Artist's name, phone number, and title of work must be on the back of each artwork. The deadline for entries and payment is Sunday, November 24, 2024. Jury results will be notified on or before December 19, 2024. Artwork delivery is January 2-5 and January 9-12 during museum hours (11am-5pm). The opening is Thursday, January 16, with a free community reception Friday, January 24, 5-8pm. The exhibition closes Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Artwork pickup is March 16, 2025 at 5pm, or during museum hours (11am-5pm) March 20-23 and March 27-30, 2025. Works left beyond April 3, 2025 will be assessed a storage fee of $5 per piece per day (Thursday-Sunday). Works remaining beyond May 3, 2025 will become property of monca. Postage, packaging, and shipping insurance are the artist's responsibility. If work is to be shipped back, the artist must provide a pre-paid mailing label. monca will be diligent in care of artwork but is not responsible for loss or damage in transit.
