Bird is the Word - A Virtual Gallery Show

Bird Is the Word is a virtual exhibition celebrating birds in all forms—real and imagined, historic and philosophical. Artists are invited to submit work featuring birds of any kind, from the tiniest hummingbird to the largest ostrich, capturing moments of bird behavior, interaction, and the diversity of birds across their worldwide habitats.

The Flagler County Art League (FCAL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Palm Coast, Florida, founded in 1978. All sale proceeds go directly to the artist, with FCAL waiving any commission percentage for this virtual show. The exhibition runs from May 23 to July 24, 2021, displaying digital images only; original artwork remains in the artist's possession.

Entry fee is $20 per entry with a limit of 4 entries per artist. Submissions must be original work created within 3 years of the show date and not previously entered in any FCAL judged show. Digital images must be submitted as JPEG files with the longest side at least 1200 pixels (1500-2500 pixels recommended) and file size not exceeding 5.0 MB. Monetary awards are given for Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place. Registration deadline is May 3, 2021. Acceptance notices will be communicated by May 7, 2021, and award winners will be notified by May 23, 2021. Shows are open to all artists and photographers regardless of geographic location.
