Biosphere

Biosphere is a juried exhibition open to all artists internationally over the age of 18. Artists are invited to share how they are inspired by the biosphere—from plants, animals, organisms, and interconnectedness to factors that threaten harm. Any medium is accepted. Work must be original and completed in the last two years, and must be accurately represented in jpeg images.

Eligibility and Requirements: There is a $25 per artist entry fee, invoiced upon receipt of entry regardless of acceptance. All work must be professionally presented. 2D artwork must be framed with a secure hanging method; canvas sides and staples must be covered. Sculptures must be fully assembled, structurally sound, and include detailed installation instructions if necessary. Submissions must be made through CAFE with files not exceeding 5MB. For 3D works, detail images can be emailed to [email protected] to preserve media allotment. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted images for promotion and archiving.

Important Dates: Entries due April 8, 2022. Artist notifications on or before April 23, 2022. Artwork delivery May 12-21, 2022 during gallery hours. Exhibition runs June 2 - July 9, 2022, with a reception on June 3, 2022 from 5:30pm-9:00pm. Artwork pickup July 14-16, 2022 during gallery hours. Delivery and pickup are the artist's responsibility; artwork may be shipped in a sturdy, reusable box with prepaid return shipping. Any work not picked up 30 days after the exhibition ends becomes property of the gallery. The Downtown Gallery is located at 102 N. Main St., Kokomo, IN 46901.
