About This Call
Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) invites submissions from adult visual artists (18 years and older) in the Puget Sound region for a juried group exhibition, Summer 2020 (June 27 - September 27). Artists who have not had a solo show at BIMA, or are scheduled for one, may apply. Work is accepted in painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, wood, artist's books, fiber, jewelry, and video/film. Work must be from the past five years, with video/film limited to 15 minutes duration. Selected videos will be shown on a loop in the Auditorium throughout the summer.
The application deadline is April 30, 2020, with an entry fee of $25 (waivers available for financial need). Submissions may include up to 3 images and/or 3 videos (minimum 1 sample required). The five-person jury includes three jurors plus Greg Robinson (Chief Curator/BIMA) and Amy Sawyer (Associate Curator/BIMA). Artists will be notified of jury results by May 15th. Work must be delivered to BIMA by June 22 for the June 27 public opening.
Several awards will be given, including individual Juror's Awards and People's Choice. An opening public reception will be held Saturday, June 27, 2 - 5 PM. BIMA is open seven days per week, 10 AM to 5 PM, with free admission.
