This exhibition is open to Washington Sculptors Group members. Non-members may join by submitting a membership form and annual membership fee of $45. Current members may enter a code provided in the WSG Email Bulletin instead of paying the fee. The application deadline is August 17, 2009 (received by CAFÉ web service; no entries accepted by mail or email). Entry fee is $45 (WSG Annual Membership Fee). Artists may submit 1-3 works with a maximum of 6 digital images per artist. An artist statement limited to one paragraph is required. All works must be completed at the time of application; no proposals for new works will be considered. All works accepted and exhibited must remain on display for the full duration of the exhibit. Notification to artists will be September 12, 2009.
For indoor works: Artists are responsible for delivery and installation. Works must fit through doors with 78" (H) x 66" (W) dimensions on the first floor; second floor galleries are accessed by a 55" wide spiral staircase with a 90" (H) x 50" (W) walkthrough to the first gallery and 90" (H) x 28" (W) to a second gallery. First floor ceiling height is 18 feet; second floor is 12 feet. Wall-mounted works have a maximum weight of 200 lbs. Ceiling-hung works must not exceed 100 lbs or 20 lbs per anchor. Artists must provide their own pedestals painted in flat white. Video/New Media artists must provide all equipment. For outdoor works: Works must be freestanding and secured on site by artists. Contact Fabian Goncalves at 202.458.6018 or [email protected] for outdoor exhibition inquiries. OAS will insure work during exhibition dates only, not during transport. The juror is Laura Roulet, Independent Curator and Writer.
