About This Call
Celebrating its 47th year, the annual Bigfork Festival is a favorite among artists and visitors alike. The well attended festival fills the main street of town with a fine selection of arts, crafts, food, music and other entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday from 9:00-4:30. It is one of the oldest art festivals in Montana and the established traditions of quality and hospitality make it one of the most popular festivals in the northwest. Currently there are more than 150 booths representing a wide variety of art and crafts by nationally recognized artists and craftsmen. Festival attendance is estimated to be more than 6,000 visitors.
Application deadline is April 15th. Applications submitted before March 31st require a $30 non-refundable application fee, while applications received after March 31st have a $45 fee. Five images of current work and one booth display image are required. Selection is based on a 5-7 member jury committee that looks for work that is well conceived and executed, shows imagination and individuality and demonstrates quality workmanship. Only artists and craftsmen displaying their own work are eligible to participate, and no commercial production work or kits are allowed.
Booth sizes range from 10x12 ($215 tear down/$255 no tear down) to 10x20 ($240-295 depending on size and tear down option). This show requires a Saturday night takedown and Sunday morning reset to allow downtown businesses to operate as usual during Saturday evening, unless a No-Tear-Down booth is purchased. Overnight booths are offered based on jury score for an additional fee. The festival takes place rain or shine, and exhibitors must furnish their own display facilities and supervise their own booths during festival hours.
