Big Draw Colorado

Big Draw Colorado is a large-scale group exhibition held in the Arvada Center's Main Gallery from June 8 - August 27, 2023. The exhibition seeks works from contemporary Colorado artists that challenge preconceived definitions of drawing through explorations in rendering, mark-making, gesture, abstraction, realism, form, and beyond, as well as from artists who celebrate the traditional roots of drawing. Artwork of all media may apply, including installations, performances, and new-media pieces.

Eligibility is open to all artists over age 18 who currently reside in Colorado. Artwork must be original and not previously shown at the Arvada Center. The non-refundable entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces. Limited entrance fee scholarships are available for artists experiencing economic hardship, artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and artists who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Submissions must be completed online through CaFE with JPG images only, cropped to exclude framing and background. Artwork will be juried by the Arvada Center Galleries curatorial team. Email notification of acceptance will be sent by March 24, 2023. Shipped work should arrive no later than May 10, 2023, or may be hand-delivered May 15-16, 2023. The Arvada Center provides insurance for artworks while on premises and is not responsible for damage or loss during transport. If artwork is sold, the Arvada Center retains a 40% commission on sales. The opening reception is June 8, 2023, 6pm - 9pm.
