About This Call
This free juried exhibition is open to all alumni (Undergraduate or Graduate) of the Kent State University School of Art. The exhibition will be held January 13 – February 21, 2025, with a reception on January 17, 5 – 7 p.m. at the CVA Gallery/Payto Gallery/Crawford Gallery located in the Center for the Visual Arts, 325 Terrace Drive, Kent, Ohio.
The Biennial Alumni Exhibition seeks to bring together and highlight the wide array of talented alumni throughout the eighty-plus year history of the School of Art. The inaugural juror is Curator Wendy Earle from the Akron Art Museum. Earle has previously worked as a curator for MOCA Cleveland, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, NC, and the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, TX. Her interests include self-taught Southern artists, craft versus fine art, and the intersection of art, science and technology.
Original works of art in any medium are accepted. Submissions are limited to three pieces per person. Hanging work must be fitted with a professional hanging device. All artworks should be clearly labeled with the artist's name, title, medium, dimensions, and sales price or insurance value if not for sale. Pieces missing any of the above may forfeit the right to be displayed. Submit a PDF, PNG, JPEG or GIF image of your artwork via the online entry form. The entry deadline is 12/1/24 at 11:59 p.m. MST. If your work is chosen for exhibition, the committee reserves the right to use an image of your work for promotional purposes.
