About This Call
Biafarin Awards 2023 is an international art awards program open to visual artists working in any medium worldwide. Submission is free, with a fixed USD 50 fee applying to selected artists only. Artists may submit up to 10 original artworks in any of the following categories: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography, Digital Arts, Sculpture, Installation, Metalsmithing, Assemblage, Decorative Arts, Crafts, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Collage, Design, Fiber Art, Textile Art, Book Art, Land Art, Paper Art, Glass Art, Wood Art, Landscape, Portraits, and Abstract Art. All styles are welcome, and there is no size limit. Artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred. Artworks must be entirely the work of the artist and the artist must own all rights for promoting, publishing, and selling the work locally and internationally.
Awards include cash grants of CAD 1,000 each for 3 artists (CAD 3,000 total), online solo exhibitions for 10 artists showcasing up to 15 artworks for two months with promotion including press releases, catalogue circulation, and social media presentation, publication in Observica contemporary art magazine for 10 artists on 2 colorful A4-sized pages, and inclusion in an international online group exhibition from November 11 to January 11, 2024. Selected artworks will also be published in a stylish online catalogue, promoted for sales via an online exhibition link, and a subset of artists will be published in a special edition of The Book of Arts series available online for free and through print-on-demand services. All selected artists receive a digital promotional badge and digital certificate. A money-back guarantee applies to selection fees until the exhibition opening day. Maximum 2 artworks will be selected from each artist.
