About This Call
The 70th Annual Undergraduate Art Exhibition is open to all Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior students formally admitted to BGSU in a degree-seeking program and enrolled in the School of Art between Summer 2021 and Spring 2022. Senior art students not submitting a 2022 BFA Thesis Exhibition are also eligible. Students may enter work made within the past two years in an Art Course under the supervision of a BGSU School of Art faculty member. Long-term projects or works-in-progress will not be shown. Works of extraordinary dimensions or requiring special equipment or space may be rejected due to Gallery limitations.
Applicants may submit up to six total entries, with a maximum of three entries per class category. Artwork must be entered in the correct class category as determined by the class in which the work was made. Each entry represents one artwork, with the option to include 1-2 additional detail images of that same artwork. For Animation/Video/Interactive work, upload an image or screenshot and include a full URL link to Vimeo, YouTube, or a high-resolution folder of files in the media description. Accepted artwork must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition (February 15-27, 2022). Artists will be notified of acceptance on January 25. Work in this exhibition is not insured. Bowling Green State University Fine Arts Center Galleries, School of Art and all its affiliates will not be responsible for loss of or damage to submitted and/or exhibited work.
More than $3,000 in scholarships and prizes will be awarded, including The James W. Strong Tuition Scholarships, The Charles Lakofsky Art Award, The Craig A. Schnuth Memorial Art Glass Scholarship, The Silvia Passerini Davenport Award, The John and Norma Richards Design Award, The Medici Circle Best of Show Award, The College of Arts & Sciences Purchase Award, and The Alumni Association Award. Artwork may be for sale; prices should include a 20% commission. If submitting work, artists are expected to volunteer for at least one shift on a show committee. Contact Jacqui Nathan, Gallery Director, at [email protected] with questions.
