BFA Annual Juried Exhibition

Florence Quater Gallery at Southwest University of Visual Arts (SUVA) in Tucson, AZ is seeking submissions from BFA graduates for a national juried exhibition. A total of 20-30 artists will be selected for inclusion in the show. All accepted artists will be considered for priority placement into the MFA program at SUVA.

Three outstanding artists will receive scholarship awards to offset tuition costs for the MFA program: First Prize is a full tuition scholarship, Second Prize is a 50% reduced tuition scholarship, and Third Prize is a 25% reduced tuition scholarship.

Applicants must have completed (or be scheduled to complete) a BFA or BA in any studio arts major no later than August 2013, with proof of graduation required. Applicants must be exemplary graduates with two or more professional recommendations. Artwork must be of exhibition quality and presentation ready with appropriate hardware and/or installation instructions. Artists must provide shipping to the gallery in a reusable carton meeting FedEx or UPS guidelines; the gallery will provide return shipping.

Submissions must include proof of graduation date, two or more letters of professional recommendation, 3-5 images (approximately 1200 maximum pixel dimensions) for 2D and 3D work, or up to three time-based pieces (3 minute excerpts formatted 1280x720 with link to full electronic version). Include artist statement, resume, and image list with name, thumbnails, title, date, materials, size, and insurance value. Label all files: lastname.firstname.title.fileformat. Submissions must be received no later than Tuesday, June 4th. Artists will be notified by Wednesday, June 5th. Artwork must be received no later than Friday, June 14th. Exhibit dates are June 19, 2013 – August 23, 2013. Awards will be announced at reception on Wednesday, June 19th. Artwork return will be processed by Friday, August 30th.
