About This Call
The #MeToo movement has brought to the surface long ignored injustices perpetrated mostly against women for generations that are demanding to be remedied. This juried exhibition seeks works that eloquently depict how to honor women and others who have been maligned, how to implement change within our culture, how to alter perceptions and ultimately erase this malady forever.
Eligible mediums include painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, small constructions or installations, short films, and crafts. Each artist may submit up to 3 artworks for a $20 entry fee. Submissions must include an artist statement, images/media of each piece, and artist bio. Only artwork of professional presentation will be accepted. Wall-hung items must be appropriately framed with sturdy wire hanging systems; no saw-tooth hangers or metal eyelets accepted. Three-dimensional works must be stable to stand independently or submitted with adequate display stands, and cannot exceed 5 feet in height by 3 feet in width, weighing no more than 75 pounds.
The call closes November 30, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Participants will be notified by December 17. The exhibition runs in Monmouth University's Pollak Gallery from January 22 - April 30, 2019, with an opening reception on February 1 from 6-8 PM. Shipping and drop-off of accepted work is the responsibility of the artist.
