Between Us

Crooked Tree Arts Center invites Michigan artists 18 and older to submit work for "Between Us," an exhibition exploring connection, distance, and everything that exists in the in-between. The show invites artists to reflect on how we reach for one another — and ourselves — across emotional, physical, and imagined spaces. Whether through intimacy or absence, care or tension, humor or vulnerability, the exhibition examines the invisible threads that link us and the quiet gaps that keep us apart.

All mediums are welcome, including abstract, conceptual, representational, installation, sound, video, textile, photography, and ceramics. Works must have been created and completed within the last three years. Size limits are 60 inches at the greatest dimension and up to 50 pounds for wall-hanging works; 3D freestanding works should not exceed 8 feet in height and 4 feet in width. Contact [email protected] for exceptions. All work must arrive assembled and stable. Diptychs and triptychs are allowed but must be submitted and priced as one piece.

Submit up to three works online by November 18, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $30.00 per artist ($20.00 for CTAC members, free for Guild members). Notification of acceptance will be sent November 26, 2025. The exhibition runs January 16 - February 21, 2026 at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City. Artists are responsible for transporting work to the center between December 13-20, 2025. Unsold artwork must be picked up between February 23-28, 2026. Crooked Tree Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sales. Works must not have been previously exhibited at Crooked Tree Arts Center-Traverse City.
