Between the Threads

Webster Arts invites fiber art submissions for Between the Threads, a national juried exhibition. The exhibition is open to artists age 18 and older residing in the US or abroad. Fiber artists are encouraged to submit 2D and 3D work that is fiber-based, including hand-made paper sculpture, art quilts, tapestry, weaving, basketry, art knitting, and embroidery. The focus of the work must be fiber or fiber technique. No floor or ceiling hung installations, video, or wearable fiber are accepted.

Entry fee is $35 for up to three entries. Submissions must include up to three JPEG digital images (1000 to 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, 5 MB maximum file size) and up to three detail images, with only one detail per work. Wall pieces must be wired for hanging and no larger than 48" X 48" and weigh no more than 20 lbs. Free-standing pieces may not exceed 32" X 32" X 60" or weigh more than 50 lbs. All work must be the original conception and execution of the artist listed on the application. Work previously exhibited at Webster Arts galleries is not eligible.

Submission deadline is October 11, 2019. Artists will be notified by email on October 21, 2019. Artwork may be hand-delivered October 28 – November 4, 2019 during office hours (9 am - 4:30 pm), or shipped with a return shipping label included. The exhibition runs November 12 – December 20, 2019, with an opening reception on November 12 from 6-8 p.m. An independent juror will select work for inclusion and award cash prizes ($250 Best in Show, two $100 Awards of Excellence). Webster Arts receives a 30% commission on all exhibition sales.
